8th Annual Winter Park Doggy Art Festival!

It’s that time of year again, time for the Winter Park Doggy Art Festival! I’ve been so busy finishing up “Wibur the Christmas Mouse” I haven’t had time to do a lot of new animal inspired art. I do so enjoy my dog inspired art. I get a lot of ideas from my own little dog, Gus and Sophia on a daily basis. This animal inspired show was stared 8 years ago as a “retaliation” to the Winter park Art Festival that is held bi annually to artists from around the country, they forbid dogs at that show (but you can bring your double wide strollers) so the owners of the The Doggie Door ( http://bullfish.net/ ) on Park Ave. decided they’d have their own art show with animal inspired art that you COULD bring your dog too.

Since I’ve participated in the show for the past 8 years, I’ve discovered so many different types of dog breeds and met some really amazing pet owners! It’s loads of fun, no pretension and some really talented artists! Plus it’s right there in down town Winter Park and Canton Ave. and Park Ave. with shopping up and down the avenue!

Here are a couple of pieces I’ve done recently, one being a commission for David of his girl Saffy and the other is a piece for sale and will be at the show. “Terry from Boston”
